InspectPilot ("we," "our," or "us") provides a mobile and web platform for home inspection professionals to capture inspection data, generate reports, and manage their inspection workflow. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Inspection Data
When you use the Service, you may upload photos, videos, and voice recordings captured during inspections. You may also enter text-based findings, property addresses, client names, and other inspection details. This data is stored to generate inspection reports on your behalf.
Company & Professional Information
You may provide your company name, license number, phone number, website, and company logo to customize your inspection reports.
Device & Usage Information
We automatically collect device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports (via Sentry) to diagnose issues and improve the Service. We do not collect precise location data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including generating AI-powered inspection reports
- To transcribe voice recordings into text using speech-to-text processing
- To analyze inspection photos and notes using AI to extract findings
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
- To send transactional communications (e.g., report delivery)
- To monitor and improve the Service's performance and reliability
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication and user management
- Cloudinary — Secure storage and delivery of photos, videos, and audio files
- OpenAI — Speech-to-text transcription of voice recordings
- Anthropic — AI analysis of inspection data to generate report narratives
- Sentry — Error monitoring and crash reporting
- Railway — Cloud infrastructure hosting
Each third-party service processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and inspection records for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual inspections at any time through the app. If you delete your account, all associated data — including inspection records, photos, voice notes, videos, and generated reports — will be permanently removed from our systems.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication via Firebase, rate limiting on API endpoints, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and update your personal information through your account settings
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Opt out of non-essential communications
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete that information promptly.
